TRISH
“I was working full time as a live-in nanny when I signed up.
I’ve always struggled with this idea of ‘perfect’. I thought I needed perfect light, or the perfect composition, or the perfect leading lines…
But, the lessons and weekly assignments stirred curiosity and play. I was able to capture and create without being paralyzed by perfection. After getting feedback on each assignment, I knew what to improve and started actually to do it. More, I was inspired by my classmates.
This year, I had my first shot printed and used in a store window display. And one of my bucket list clients reached out with work. I’m also on a monthly retainer with two companies which has allowed me to finally quit my nannying job.
I highly recommend doing this for yourself - I’m beyond grateful."
Do you know the difference between…?
-
shooting mind-blowing images that have your inbox full of fans and new clients anxious to work with you to create more…
-
And feeling lost, confused and completely in the dark on how National Geographic photographer’s actually get started
Or the worst…
-
Having people constantly tell you they LOVE your work yet, you barely make enough to cover the cost of gas to get you there
If you guessed...
✘ Having a better camera gear…you’d be wrong.
✘ Having a massive instagram following…that wouldn’t be it either.
✘ Not having a day job so you had all the time in the world to shoot…that wouldn’t be it.
✘ Being born into a family that has connections in the industry who will help guide you to the top…that wouldn’t do it either.
You see the truth is having access to the most breathtaking locations,
contacts at all the best companies,
or even being born before everyone carried pocket sized cameras (their phone) everywhere
that won’t pave the way to achieving all your photography goals.

I have attended other classes but what makes this one stand out are the live feedback sessions.
Getting feedback on my photographs was invaluable.
Erin pointed out things I hadn't noticed. The Facebook group has also been really encouraging and I have really enjoyed getting to know the other people in my class along the way and getting excited about their work as well

Jody
I was 100% nervous about registering. I clicked on an Instagram ad, and I never do that!! I feel like I’m still not good enough for this, and there are so many unanswered questions I have. Just hearing Erin’s story was enough.
The thing I think I loved the most was when she said that the uncertainties I was having around the business side of things was not something that they taught in Photography school....that made me feel so much better. I've become so much more confident on the business side. I feel so much better now knowing that I don’t have to be alone anymore.

Kristen
I was a bit nervous about registering. While I didn't think anything would go wrong, I had never signed up for something like this that I found online before!
Something that sticks with me is when we spoke about knowing how to market yourself and your work is a huge part of it that they leave out in college.
Seeing that we share that perspective definitely convinced me that I was in the right place

Most online photography courses don’t take any of this into account.
They give you stock, cookie cutter, one size fits all lessons that are exactly the same for everyone and you do them completely alone. They don’t consider your work, your specific goals and your unique strengths and style.
They simply give you generic “how tos” without giving you the things you actually need.
GIVE ME ALL THE DETAILA Lot of People Wonder...
Why we Have 1:1 Calls with Every Student Before They Enroll.
There are a number of different reasons for this.
First, and most important, is to find out if these courses are what you are looking for and will provide you with the results they want. This is SO important to me because I HAVE to make sure the courses bring everyone enrolled a TONE of value.
I have taken numerous online courses before and felt like it was a waste of time because so much of the information was not relevant to me or was too basic. That is something I want to make sure no one who takes the courses feels.
I also have 20 years of professional photography experience, in almost every area of photography (and because these courses involve personalized feedback), we need to know what your specific photography goals are so that I can provide you with the right feedback to achieve them.
If I don't know where you are going then I can't get you there?
Last, The fastest most efficient way to achieving goals is from personalized feedback from somebody who knows you and can guide you. That is why professional athletes hire coaches for their entire career.

Now, I know what you’re thinking “why can’t I just find this information on YouTube”?
First off, I appreciate your skepticism.
These days, literally everyone with a phone, has a camera and claims they are a photographer.
They have all the advice in the world about how to shoot and what to do but the second you ask ‘how’d that work for you?” they disappear or rattle off their instagram following not the awards they have won, where their work has been published and who they’ve worked with and the amount of money they’ve made.

The truth is I’ve been a professional photographer for a decade and shooting photos before digital was even a thing and I had to go in the darkroom to print photos. I’ve worked with top outdoor brands like The Northface, Patagonia and Evo, been published worldwide, been featured in numerous galleries including Summerset Gallery in London, England.
I work with clients like The Northface, Patagonia and National Geographic. I'm a Sony Alpha Female, and I have an X-Games Gold Medal for Action Sports Photography.
Did I mention that I grew up in the suburbs of Toronto and didn't go into the backcountry until I was 25? I showed up in Whistler with a camera, zero contacts and $500 to my name…proving you can start anywhere with whatever you have.
LET'S DO THIS
HALEE
I was a little worried about the price...mostly because it was an online course. I also felt I could try to learn on my own but then figured live classes with Erin might be beneficial so I took a chance.
The lessons really motivated me, and I progressed in ways I never would have on my own. I also loved Erin’s feedback and the extra advice she gave about clients, business, and career experience in the sports industry.
Before Elevate I really wanted to start shooting adventures but I had no idea how to do it, now just a few months later I know...
Invest in yourself. It's worth it.

HILARY
I was nervous about registering…is this price going to be worth it?
The assignments are specific and relevant and actually do move my photography forward. I'd paid for two workshops in the past; one was terrible, the other was disheartening.
I was really honored with how open and transparent Erin was through this whole process. It was a big missing piece for me.
AND during the course, I reached out to my first publications ever which was a huge hump I needed to get over!!
Frequently Asked Questions
Things you’d be smart to ask...
1. What if there’s already 1 million photographers out there shooting what I want to shoot?
2. What if what I want to do has already been done before?
3. No one actually wants to pay for photography, don’t I need to starve and shoot for free for years before I can be successful?
4. How do I enrol to save a spot?
5. Don’t I need to spend all my time growing my instagram following in order to reach my goals?
6. Couldn’t I just watch YouTube videos or buy an online course for $50?
7. Will I have time to complete the course and actually see results?
8. Okay but how much time will I have to actually spend doing the course?
9. What do I get again?
10. When is the Live Course?

NICOLE
Initially I was a little hesitant about registering.
I wasn't sure if this was the right course for me because, truthfully, I wasn't even clear on what I needed to learn. Although Erin is an action sports & fine arts photographer, she understood my affinity for documentary and street photography.
My photos have improved a great deal since the start of the course. I attribute it to:
- the challenge to shoot entirely in manual,
- the support around the learning curve inherent in shooting in manual, and
- the incredibly helpful feedback on the photos that I shot while employing the techniques covered in class.
I am really psyched that Elevate. It provided me with a really solid foundation around critically important elements and techniques. Rather than having to unlearn poor teaching and/or incorrect technique, I had the opportunity to learn from the ground up with the Elevate course.
Before Elevate I really wanted to have better control over my photos, but I truly didn't know how. Now I understand how the photographer was able to capture the image, and I am able to do the same!
The truth is just because everyone has a camera just like everyone has a paint brush…
That doesn’t make everyone Picasso.
